Since my first little lighthouse sampler, made in an after-school class in the fourth grade, I’ve been hooked on cross stitch. These days I am a full time working wife and mom of two little boys, so my stitching time is limited. But really, who needs sleep, right? This blog grows from my desire to share my love of embroidery with others. In addition to cross stitch, I’m also just starting to learn freestyle embroidery and look forward to sharing my journey.
I live in beautiful coastal Maine with my fantastic husband, two boys, and two rescued dogs. My hobbies other than stitching include reading (I am in LOVE with my kindle) and training my dogs.
I believe that one way I can share my Christian faith is through my embroidery, and the name of my blog comes from this desire. It’s a reference to 1 Corinthians 13, the apostle Paul’s well known discourse on love. After speaking eloquently about what love looks like, Paul talks about the fact that the temporal things of this world will one day pass away. “And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 14:5 NIV
Thanks for reading my blog and I hope you’ll share your thoughts with me in the comments.
ps – the work in my cover photo is from a lovely design called “Faith Hope Love” by Joyful Expressions.
